In his sermon, he said he wanted to give the message of Islam to Pakistani people, which is ‘to remain united’. He said the enemy was killing our children, attacking our homes and continuing terrorism and holding Islam responsible for it.
He went on to say that Islam is the religion of peace and has nothing to do with terrorism. The imam urged the Muslims to get united to cope with the enemy.
He said Allah has accorded great respect to Pakistan which raises voice for Muslims suffering in any part of the world. The imam said Pakistanis should end their differences for the sake of Islam, adding that unity of Pakistanis is unity of the entire Muslim Ummah.
He advised Pakistani youth to avoid having connection with organisations which carry out attacks on schools and places of worship. He said Muslims should firmly associate themselves with the Holy Quran if they want to foil any conspiracies against Islam.
He said this mosque reminded him of Masjid al Aqsa, and thanked Pakistani people, government and armed forces for giving him respect during his visit.
Pakistan Ulema Council chairman Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi translated the Arabic sermon of the mufti into Urdu.
