aku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The Gazi Council of theCaucasian Muslims Office(CMO) has issued a fatwa on the occasion of the Month of Muharram.
The fatwa was given at today’s meeting attended by CMO Chairman Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh.
The beginning of the new year– the first of the Month of Muharram by Christian calendar falls on October 15, 2015 and Ashura on the 10th day of the Month of Muharram - on October 24, 2015.
“The most appropriate example of lamentation is the blood donation campaign dedicated to the commemoration of the martyrs of Karbala. The blood donation campaign, which is held on the initiative of theCaucasian Muslims Office during days of mourning, is welcomed by our people too. Such an example should be promoted by clerics,” said the fatwa.
“We do hope that the believers will continue to practice this humanitarian tradition during the mourning for Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). Our clerics are meant to reveal the realities about the Karbala tragedy and the essence of the Karbala martyrdom and also promote the bravery shown by the martyrs who offered their souls for the integrity of our lands as well as the martyrs of Karabakh and Khojaly. They should pray for our lands to be soon liberated from occupation under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief,” said the fatwa.
